Ghostscript WebAssembly runs on your device, so standard PDFs are not sent to a CompressMyPDF server.
Simply drop your PDF and let our tool compress it right on your device. No uploading to servers means better privacy and no transfer delays.
Drag and drop your PDF file or click to browse. Files are loaded directly into your browser memory.
Select a compression preset: Screen (smallest), Ebook (balanced), Printer (high quality), or Prepress (maximum quality).
Click compress and download your smaller PDF. The original file is never modified.
No in the standard workflow. CompressMyPDF uses WebAssembly to compress the file in your browser. The optional Google Drive workflow is a separate, explicit exception.
For email attachments, use Screen (72 DPI). For general use, Ebook (150 DPI) offers the best balance. For printing, choose Printer (300 DPI) or Prepress for professional output.
There is no hard limit. Compression happens in your browser memory, so very large files (over 100 MB) depend on your device capabilities.
